What do I do if I’m eligible for fees-free, but I’ve already enrolled in study or training?

If you’re eligible for fees-free and your eligibility status is ‘yes,’ you don’t need to do anything. You don’t need to apply for fees-free support or tell your tertiary education organisation (TEO), they’ll already know.

If you’re eligible for fees-free and your eligibility status is ‘unknown,’ you need to complete and submit a statutory declaration. Once this has been processed you’ll be recognised as eligible for fees-free. Your TEO will be told and you’ll receive a refund for any fees paid towards eligible study or training in that calendar year. To access a statutory declaration, enter your National Student Number on the fees-free website.

To check your eligibility status, go to the fees-free homepage and enter your NSN.
